Sustainability Plan and Report

Our impact on the planet is complex and rich in interconnections: climatic and environmental phenomena affect human and social ones, and vice versa.

The Sustainability Report is the tool used to collect, measure and communicate all these interactions. Through a structured and proactive approach, we support companies in analyzing their impact and implementing a plan to manage and optimize its effects on people and the environment.

“The only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you think is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t give up. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know it when you find it”.

Steve Jobs

Sustainability Report according to Sapiens

“Document that an organization draws up to communicate transparently its social, environmental and governance performance (its non-financial performance)”, drawn up in accordance with the current CSRD legislation”.

“These are the most pressing themes that guide the path of those who take up the challenge of contemporaneity, and manage to seize the opportunity to measure themselves against the natural resources they consume, to get closer to and value the people they interact with every day, to explain and share with them the values that drive the company’s operations”.

GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE

Governance is the tool that improves the management of the company in order to create value for shareholders while protecting all other stakeholders. It is both the management system and the information processes and, finally, the decision-making processes regarding sustainability issues.

Defining a sustainability governance means shaping the structure that supports the company’s ability to create value in the short, medium and long term.

CONTEXT ANALYSIS

Transparent communication cannot ignore an analysis and presentation of the company, which also includes its history, organizational structure, geographical presence, competitors, related products and market segments.

It is necessary to understand, describe and represent its Business model and carry out a Systemic Analysis of the company, studying its interrelationships with respect to the entire value chain.

This means understanding the company’s sustainability positioning with respect to competitors, the market and sectors in which it operates.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

An effective sustainability report cannot ignore stakeholder involvement.

Stakeholder engagement is the process a company uses to involve stakeholders in its activities and processes.

We work with companies to identify key stakeholders – from customers to suppliers, investors, employees, local communities – and develop targeted dialogue strategies.

Through interviews, surveys and workshops we collect valuable insights from stakeholders so that the information is consistent with their expectations, to enrich the decision-making process in the company, as well as to strengthen the transparency of the contents.

DOUBLE MATERIALITY ANALYSIS
Performing a double materiality analysis means detecting both the impact of the company’s activities on people and the external environment (health and safety, pollution, …), but also the way in which external issues, such as environmental events (floods, earthquakes, …) and socio-geo-political events (wars, pandemics, …), impact the company’s financial position.

At the basis of the concept of value there are, together with financial, productive and intellectual capital, also human, social and natural capital.

All these capitals are closely interconnected and all are used and impacted by business activities.

SUSTAINABILITY PLAN

After analyzing performance and engaging stakeholders, the next step is to identify a strategic sustainability plan.

We build tailor-made paths, helping companies set concrete and measurable goals, aligned with international standards and market expectations.

Sapiens support does not only occur in planning: we accompany organizations in the implementation of strategies, monitoring progress and updating actions based on the results obtained.

DRAFTING OF THE BALANCE SHEET

Writing the Sustainability Report is the last phase of the process, in which the company can finally consciously represent its values and the effects that its activity produces on the environment and on all stakeholders.

Sustainability reporting is constantly evolving, so at Sapiens we are committed to staying up to date with the guidelines, standards and frameworks that influence the form and content of this important document.

In line with our Mission, we are committed to ensuring that the financial statements produced by our clients contain a clear representation of their objectives, sustainability risks, performance and trend analyses, and above all that they unequivocally express the value that the organization will be able to generate in the process of integrating sustainability into its strategy.

Why do the Sustainability Report with Sapiens

We believe that producing a sustainability report that does not encourage the company to recognize its social role does not generate value.

Integrating sustainability into the organization is a journey that requires moving from a compliance approach to a transformative one: having certifications and ratings is not enough to be sustainable. Regulations and policies can guide, but they cannot be effective where the choice does not respond to a real need, a desire, a vision, a desire for transformation and sharing with the entire organization.

To become truly sustainable, you need visionary thinking and concrete action; the first is what leads our customers to try to make sense of their work and, probably, to approach our method. Concrete action is instead what we at Sapiens are committed to achieving together with companies.

We will show you that writing a Sustainability Report is an engaging and rewarding activity, which will give great satisfaction to those who want to better interpret their role with respect to the evolutions that the world is inevitably experiencing and that no government policy or cultural ignorance can stop.
